Practice management software should connect the work that happens before, during, and after a client or patient interaction. Test intake, scheduling, records or matter setup, internal notes, documents, billing, payment, follow-up, and reporting in one scenario.

Permissions and data ownership matter. Ask who can view records, export data, edit billing, send messages, delete files, and access reporting. A clean demo is not enough if permissions or migration are weak.

Price the full operating model. Include providers, staff seats, locations, portals, storage, claims, payments, reminders, implementation, and integrations. The strongest platform is the one that reduces admin while protecting the records the practice depends on.
